I am delighted to introduce and warmly welcome you to the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Sanjay Ghodawat University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

Our mission is to mould Aerospace Engineering undergraduates through world class education, sustained research in aerospace technologies leading to patents and research publications, promoting entrepreneurship and enhance interactions with industry. The department boasts enthusiastic faculty and talented staff members who are experts in their areas of interest.

About Department

The Department of Aerospace Engineering was established in 2017. Department of Aerospace Engineering offered B. Tech Aeronautical Engineering (4 years) and M. Tech Aerospace Engineering (2 Years) , M.Tech Aerospace Engineering (1+1) Articulation Programme. The B. Tech Aeronautical Engineering program has been designed to provide quality education for undergraduate students through the blend of advanced laboratories and experienced faculty members in the fields of Aerodynamics, Aerospace Structures, Aerospace Propulsion, Space Mechanics, Aircraft Design, Aircraft Systems, Avionics, UAV, Satellite Technology and Advanced Materials. The syllabus is regularly revised to meet the industry demands in the Aviation, Space Exploration and Defence Sector.

The department encompasses various types of Aircraft, Aircraft Maintenance, Autonomous Systems and Satellite Technology, aircraft and helicopters hangers, advanced laboratories and experienced faculty members, Sanjay Ghodawat University offers myriad opportunities for real-time experience, practical learning and skill development in the Aerospace engineering domain. We take pride in generating the maximum number of Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineers in the country. Many of our alumni work as Engineers.

The Aeronautical Engineering Graduates will be able to

  • Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and aeronautical engineering to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze engineering problems to arrive at sustainable solutions
  • Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components, processes to meet the specifications, safety, and environmental considerations.
  • Use research-based knowledge and methods, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools

  • PEO 1: To acquire adequate knowledge both in practical and theoretical domains in the field of Aerospace Technology through post graduate education.
  • PEO 2: To train students to have successful technical and managerial career in aerospace industries and the allied management.
  • PEO 3: To guide students to learn and adapt new technology developments to contribute for the current needs of the Aerospace Technology.
  • PEO 4: To prepare students to excel in aerospace technology with an academic environment aware of leadership and the life-long learning needed to meet out the changing industrial scenarios.

On successful completion of the programme,

  • Post Graduate will attain the skill to conduct experiments, to design, analyze and interpret data in the field of Aerospace technology.
