About Us

A Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, often abbreviated as MLT, focuses on the study and practice of medical laboratory science, encompassing various disciplines like haematology, chemistry, microbiology and immunology, to assist in diagnosing, treating and preventing diseases. The Department will commence with 4 years UG course of Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology.

The courses will be credit-based semester system which includes 6 months of hospital internship & 6 months of research project work. The programme covers the basics of preclinical subjects such as Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Histopathology, haematology and Blood Banking including introduction to research methodology. All facilities are available for the students with beautiful campus including hostel for both boys & girls, Gym & sport complex. The classrooms & Labs are well equipped with good facilities for learning. The mission of the course is to increases the accuracy of disease diagnosis & an essential role in screening for ill health & assessing response to treatment.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO):

  • PEO 1 : Graduates will demonstrate professional competence in performing laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring high standards of accuracy and reliability in their work.
  • PEO 2 : Graduates will apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze laboratory results, troubleshoot issues and make informed decisions in various clinical settings.
  • PEO 3 : Graduates will exhibit ethical behavior and professionalism in their practice, adhering to legal and regulatory standards and demonstrating respect for patient confidentiality and rights.
  • PEO 4 : Graduates will engage in lifelong learning and continuing education to keep abreast of advancements in medical technology and laboratory practices.

  • PO6 : To perform routine clinical laboratory procedures within acceptable quality control parameters in hematology, Chemistry, Immunohematology and Microbiology, To enable students to work as a supervisor, trainer, or teacher in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • PO7 : To demonstrate technical skills, social behavior and professional awareness mandatory upon a laboratory technician.
  • PO8 : To operate laboratory instruments and equipment safely and effectively utilizing appropriate quality control and safety procedures.
  • PO9 : To Understand and commit to ethical practices in laboratory work, including confidentiality and patient rights.
